The Rotary Club of Aspen sponsors a BBQ dinner for the Shining Stars every year.   This year's dinner will be held at the Inn at Aspen on Sunday evening, March 10th.

The Shining Stars Foundation, a non-profit organization, serves children ages 6-18 who are living with pediatric cancer or another life threatening illness.  The Foundation provides long-term, year-round care for children and their families through programming centered around unique, recreational and social activities at any stage in their cancer battle.

Each March the Foundation holds its Winter Games in Aspen Colorado.  Over 200 participants, including children, their medical team, instructors, and volunteers come to the Buttermilk Ski Area for a week of skiing.  For more than twenty years the Rotary Club of Aspen has provided a BBQ dinner that features Rotarians’ homemade salads and desserts.  Rumor has it the Rotary BBQ is the children’s’ favorite meal of the week and without question it is one of the Aspen Rotary Club member's most events.
Rotarians, their spouses and children always welcome the opportunity to mingle with the Shining Stars Foundation children who exhibit an exuberance for life, as well as admire the enduring commitment of the Foundation volunteers who give so freely of their time to make this week a memorable one for all involved.
