Rotary in Action: Linkins Lake Trail Work
Seven dedicated Rotarians met at the Linkins Lake Trailhead July 22 to join two crew leaders from Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers for some physical labor. The crew repaired a good part of the trial’s water bars. Water bars divert snowmelt and rain water off the trail to prevent erosion. The crew also closed off a number of bandit trails with brush and dead branches. Once that work was done, they were treated with a short hike up to Linkins Lake. The Linkins Lake trailhead is shared with the Upper Lost Man trailhead up past the ghost town of Independence.
The work was done by club members Natalie Crick, Susan Gomez, Katie Ertl, Alicia Miller, Bob Campbell, Jim Shallcross and Steve Seyffert along with RFOV Crew Leaders Carl and Jack.

Sundance Liquor & Gifts celebrates its 42nd anniversary of being in business this month. That's right folks, Barbara Bakios-Wickes and her team (we are pretty sure this includes Steve Wickes) have been serving Snowmass Village since 1979.
Here's a link to an article in The Aspen Times from their 40th Anniversary:
