The 22nd Annual Ducky Derby and Festival will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013, in the Rio Grande Park in Aspen.

Approximately 30,000 rubber ducks will race down the Roaring Fork River, in the heart of Aspen, to benefit local youth, Valley-wide non-profit organizations, and international health and human service projects. Aspen Rotary Club is proud to host this annual fun-filled festival for the entire family. Rotary President Terri Caine says, "Twenty-two years ago, the Aspen Rotary Club started the Ducky Derby to help bring community back to Aspen…now the Ducky Derby is an Aspen community tradition."

The day's events will begin at 10:30 am with youth games and booths, bounce houses, live music, food and drinks, a silent auction, and the duck launch at 2:00 pm. The youth organizations that benefit from Duck Adoptions have the opportunity to also raise additional money for their individual organizations by hosting kid-friendly booths during the festival.

The rubber ducks will be launched into the river at No Problem Bridge in Herron Park at 2:00 p.m. The finish line will be at the Mill St. Bridge at the west side of the Rio Grande Park. Crowds typically cheer their ducks from start to finish along the bike bath adjacent to the river. Every duck has a numbered sticker on its belly corresponding to a number on the "adoption" papers. Cash prizes will be awarded to those who "adopted" the first ducks to finish. Announcement of the winners will be made in the park following the race.
