Speaker:  Teresa Anson, District Governor, Rotary District 5470. Teresa Anson joined the Grand Junction Rotary Club in 2003. She was the third woman to serve as president in the club’s 93-year history! A retired teacher, Teresa was recently the president of the Colorado Mesa University Foundation. She and her husband Chris, an assistant district governor, run two land development companies.

Her theme was the connectedness of the world’s 1.2 million Rotarians. Teresa encouraged Aspen Rotarians to attend District Leadership trainings in September and October, our District Conference in Glenwood Springs in April, 2017, and the Rotary International Conference in Atlanta in  June 2017.

Bob Porter became our newest Blue Badge recipient…long overdue, said Membership Committee Chair Justin Barrow.  Bob, a former trauma center physician, has been married 34 years and has three children.  He talked of his enjoyment of his Ducky Derby involvement this year.

Rotarians welcomed new member, Sean Hathaway.  Starting as a poli-sci major from Colorado Springs, he has been a construction manager, a teacher and a hockey manager. After teaching in at inner city school in the Springs, he became the director of the Colorado Springs Amateur Hockey Association.  Four years ago, USA Hockey asked him to head up Aspen Junior Hockey. He has recently sealed a partnership with AVSC for some shared programs.
