Volume II, Issue 18, April 28, 2016 ~ THE THERAPIST'S EDITION

Dear Rotarians,
Spending Rotary breakfast at the Chalet warms my heart like no other. With a tea cup in hand, fresh squeezed OJ in the other, I am one happy gale! I know it's the same for you all as we whisper to each other, 'the Meadows is okay, but this ORANGE JUICE is to die for!' Thank you Craig Melville for a beautiful breakfast and even though it wasn't on the deck and Kurt Adam was thoroughly disappointed he winded up at the kids table, I'll just hope for it to be next week and make sure we leave a table for Kurt to himself in the basement. See you all at the Chalet in May.
Sincerely,
The Psychotherapist

David Hamilton & Zoe Manickam present on ROARING FORK OUTDOOR VOLUNTEERS
An organization promoting stewardship of our public lands by engaging the community in volunteer trail and restoration projects.

Live, work, play has a whole different meaning than most places in the world. Unfortunately, because our land services have a minimal budget with only two service guides to take care of the land, they need VOLUNTEERS to support their efforts. This is where RFOV comes in and partners with local agencies and municipalities on a variety of projects from building and maintaining trails to planting wetlands, removing invasive species, and refurbishing historic sites. If you have seen them in action on your summer hikes than you know how meaningful their efforts are.

This year they are announcing a new goal by getting youth involved and what a wonderful way for our teens to spend their summer months. Spend a day with RFOV or sign your kid up. For more information contact Zoe

It is a sad farewell to our very own, Blair Flickinger, who announced  her resignation to the club. She shared her love and gratitude for her Rotarian experience yet excitement to be a mother!

Steve Seyffert announces and introduces Aspen High School student, Henry Godfrey, who received a $12,000 scholarship for college. He will start his University career studying entrepreneurship and French at UCLA with hopes of transferring into Berkley. Henry expressed his thanks to the club and Ducky Derby!

Frieda Wallison acknowledges our club's progress in reaching $45,500 in sponsorship. Big thanks to Mountain Chalet, Craig Melville, Dwayne Romero, Dan Johns (Roaring Fork Builders) and Alpine Bank. Keep the sponsors coming and reach out to the sponsorship committee or our website to see sponsor forms.

RED BADGE BLUE BADGE!
It only took him a swift year, but Ryan Doremus earned his blue badge today. Lightening speed! He was given the gift of Rotary from Rick Newton, he is a local architect and is a 3rd generation Aspenite. Congrats!
Norm Bacheldor is official! He shared being an Aspen Rotarian 28 years ago and now he is back at it for his acceptance to his red badge!
